Our collaboration Can Help Texans Hire Responsible Contractors. Too many Texans hire contractors and end up with headaches rather than happy results.
Our coalition can do something about it. We can position ourselves as defenders of the interests of hour homeowner community.
We will have a code of conduct and people will appreciate our candor and our integrity as a group.
Too many Texans are bitterly disappointed with the contractors they hire. Maybe the pain starts in the construction process. Maybe it is years before they understand how they were poorly served.
Skylights improperly installed might not show stains for months. It might be years before deck damage is discovered… but the homeowner has been poorly served.
Now each ethical contractor can fight this battle on his or her own, or they can band together and raise one clearly heard voice. A coalition of contractors can overcome this maelstrom of BS and in the process, make friends, influence homeowners and win the hearts and minds of the community.
In these uncertain times, with the economy in turmoil and gas prices through the roof; buyers are apprehensive… reactive. Saving money is paramount. The unscrupulous contractor frames BS in terms of saving money. As a group of ethical contractors, we can help buyers understand value and choose solutions that
- optimize their investment,
- insure they receive real value,
- and are based on truth.
When we make statements and we can offer proof and a reasonable rational, we will be trusted.
When we help people decipher half-truths, when we watch out for their personal interests; we will earn their trust. When we are trusted, they will ask us for help, ask us to give them estimates and ask us to work for them. We want all our partners doing well and feeling good and watching out for customers just like they watch out for their moms.
We are well served by this positioning. Our community is well served because we watch out for them. Lets return to our evaluation of collaboration.
