Prospecting is a Great Team Sport

There are many more ways to drive traffic to our website.

(We can nurture our community together and help introduce our partners to each community member.)

Lets discuss several, but first, let’s review our integrated Internet strategy.

Our website is our attraction that draws people. Our task is to drive as much traffic to it as we can. People who arrive at our website are attracted by our content and tempted by our free offers. Our visitors give us permission to send them information when they accept our free offers and subscribe to our newsletter. They give us permission to keep them updated on developments, new special offers, and timely news.

When our subscriber community needs help, has questions, and needs an estimate, we are there.
When our subscribers are asked for recommendations, our partners come to mind.

Our methods of driving traffic to our website are critical points of leverage. The more traffic we drive to the site, the more subscribers we will earn. The better our content, the more compelling our stories, the better we will succeed at getting subscriptions. Subscriptions and subscribers are a critical measuring tool of our marketing success.

Let’s look at several more traffic building methods.

  • Direct Mail – no marketing tool is more effective than direct mail. You hold it in your hands. You are influenced by pictures and headlines. Yes, Direct mail is a great resource for us.
  • We can send out a print version of our newsletter to solicit subscriptions. We can work with partners who want to use the newsletter as a direct mail piece. We can create synergy with select insurance agents, CPAs, estate attorneys, and financial advisors. We can include subscription information with the direct mail newsletter. We have all kinds of options here.
  • Post cards, announcement cards, flyers
  • In a shared mailing piece
  • In brochures and on business cards
  • Mention it in PR. We will be writing press releases for local papers. This takes smarts but we are clever.
  • We can develop relationships with media – we can even get some of our partners interviewed on the radio or TV.
  • We can create video for the website and then we can propagate our video to various Internet archiving systems. We will be out front of our competitors and our marketplace will be tuning us in for ideas and help.
  • And we can work together on creating information on a blog. Don’t worry about this right now. This is something we can step towards later.
  • Mention it at networking events. This idea is a great conversation starter. It instantly intrigues.
  • We can send out email teasers to our email lists. [We do not just start sending out our email newsletter. People must subscribe and double confirm. We do nothing that might be perceived as SPAM ]
  • In your email signature
  • On vehicle signage and signage at the work site
  • Mention it when you’re a guest on radio talk shows.
  • On your fax cover sheet skin
  • Etc.
